Throughout Headspace and Faraway Town, Mari occasionally makes appearances as Hellmari, a nightmarish version of Mari formed from Sunny's mind. She then fades away, and later reappears at the picnics as usual. Mari travels along with Omori, and eventually addresses him not as Omori, but as Sunny, telling him that he needs to overcome her death. One notable scene of Mari in Headspace comes when Omori must cross a large boardwalk to reach Deep Well and the Last Resort. Despite this, however, there are a few notable appearances of Mari in Headspace. Her death would lead to Sunny's shut-in nature, Aubrey becoming a delinquent that bullies Basil, and Hero becoming depressed.ĭuring the events of Omori, Mari mainly appears in Headspace, always being at the picnics where Omori and his friends can replenish their HP and save their progress. Mari's death would lead to her friends and family becoming distraught at her supposed suicide. His best friend, Basil, would come up with an idea to make her accidental murder appear as a suicide instead. Sunny, thinking Mari just fell asleep, would try to help her out, but would become distraught once he realized that he had accidentally killed his own sister. This would lead to Mari falling down the stairs, with her dying in the process. During this argument, Mari would block Sunny's path as he tried to leave, leading to Sunny pushing her out of the way. This would cause Mari to become angry at Sunny, and the two would enter a heated argument. One night, Sunny threw his violin down their house's stairs, in frustration at his inability to play it correctly. Mari might have also shared a romantic relationship with Hero, one of her and Sunny's best friends. As Sunny practiced his violin, Mari continued to push him to do his best at playing it. During Christmas, Mari, along with the rest of Sunny's friends, would all help buy a violin for Sunny. Mari always enjoyed playing the piano, and always wanted to play a duet with Sunny. Mari is also shown to be someone who can forgive others, as she asks Sunny to forgive himself for his involvement in her death during some of her ghost appearances.īefore the events of Omori, Mari and her brother, Sunny, were very close. Mari was also someone who wanted things to be perfect, spending multiple hours practicing her piano and encouraging Sunny to practice his violin skills. Mari was shown to be someone who cared for others, especially her younger brother Sunny. In her ghost form, Mari wears a plain white dress, has completely white skin, and doesn't seem to be wearing shoes. Mari also has noticeably long hair, a trait shared with all versions of her that are seen. In Headspace, Mari has a small red cloth tied to the collar of her shirt, a purple skirt, and a black vest. In Faraway Town, the few appearances Mari has shows her to have long, black hair, and a purple jacket.
